Monocoque Body (MQ) is the single biggest revolution in spinning reel design from Daiwa by totally eliminating the traditional two-piece body construction. MQ reels don’t use any side plates and feature a completely screwless body design which eliminates potential entry points for water & grime, and significantly enhances overall body strength and rigidity. 

The screwless design principle of MQ bodies are also significantly more compact than a standard body design. Casting performance has also been improved with the implementation of Long Cast ABS (LC-ABS) spool design. LC-ABS spool design improves line flow from the spool, resulting in increased casting distances across the board with both heavy & light lines.

Sporting a totally new design incorporating the motor housed inside the spool has given Daiwa engineers the ability to increase the efficiency of the powerful motor, the same reliable unit that’s been used on TANACOM 1000 in the past. ATD (Automatic Drag System) - ATD gives you the power and poise to take control of whatever crosses your angling path. ATD is a combination of seven large carbon washers and improved drag grease. The new grease exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag startup. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia. When combined with the structural changes to the ATD Drag washers, results in a smoother stronger drag from the initial hook up, allowing you to concentrate on the fight. This tough drag function will adjust according to the pulling of fish.

To keep the drag smooth under extreme pressure , an aluminium drag radiator is located on the handle shaft that dissipates heat away from the drag system, maximising the release of heat, keeping the drag cooler for better drag performance. Jog Power Lever - The new Seaborg Jog Power Lever system is designed for standup fishing techniques. Saltiga DURASENSOR X8 braided line is a 8-weave braided line, made in Japan using the latest DAIWA technology to produce a silky smooth, super thin line which is perfect for a host of fishing scenarios in Australia. Featuring DAIWA's MUSCLE PE fibres for a higher abrasion resistance and more durability, Saltiga DURASENSOR X8 is a very tough braided line, despite its very thin diameter. MUSCLE PE fibres are up to 4x more abrasion resistant than normal braided lines.

Combining with MUSCLE PE is the inclusion of DAIWA's famous Si2+ silicon coating. Not all braided line coatings are created equal, and Si2+ is the latest iteration of the technology which impregnates the individual fibres rather than coating them, for a long-lasting finish which aids in hydrophobicity and line management.

Saltiga DURASENSOR has been tweaked and perfected for the Australian market, with lighter weight offerings in the distinct chartreuse color with the addition of dark green markings every 10m with light blue markings every 15m to aid in bite detection on slack line techniques. These lighter weight sizes from PE #0.6-#2.0 are available in 200m spools and are the perfect size to either topshot 2 smaller spinning reels or to completely fill a standard depth Daiwa spin reel with the full 200m.

In the larger sizes, Saltiga DURASENSOR X8 is available with traditional multi-colour marking and in larger 300m spools, perfect for chasing harder fighting fish where you need larger capacity reels which hold a full spool of 300m of their given size.
